Leo Martinez
Leo Martinez got his musical start playing bass for a salsa band that saw him on stages across Canada including spots at major events such as the Winnipeg Jazz and the Revelstoke Blues Festival. Now as a solo artist, Martinez has sold out shows at Edmonton’s Rec Room South, opened for the likes of Boogie Patrol and Jay Allen, and continues to impress his audiences with his high energy performances. He combines a strong sense of rhythm with a gritty vocal style, often playing both guitar and bass drum while delivering classic and original material. You will find him on the patio at Blues on Whyte most weekends, where the audience is either tapping their feet or dancing the night away.
Cedar Roots
Cedar Roots’ electro-folk set is a weaving of silk and honey harmonies over raw acoustic guitar, carried by earthy, grounding beats.
This is music rooted in the land but reaching toward the sky—echoes of campfire songs filtered through analog warmth and modern rhythm. Expect heart-opening vocals, foot-stomping grooves, and stories that feel like old friends. A sound that is both tender and electric, grounded and transcendent.
Beyond their heart-opening live sets, Cedar Roots transforms into their high-energy DJ duo : Electric Leopard and Velvet Wild. Together, they craft dynamic ecstatic dance and party sets that pump up the jam. Galloway and Sophia also produce Vibestown Festival (vibestownfestival.com) and have recently launched their new Meditation App called Somatic Prayer.
